What's the first thing you think when you walk into an apartment and it smells like crap? Well, this time it was TWC attempting to home brew. After months of procrastination, and months of collecting bottles that were fermenting by themselves he finally made the leap into home brewing. The giant glass container is currently in our hallway fermenting away as the yeast cycle through the murky fluid contraption which changes colors daily. let's just hope no one goes blind.

Quitters

Went to go see the "Quitters" play at Gilman. Best of all, my buddy is the bassist. Never been to the venue and I have to say it is a pretty cool place, especially the murder ball court. Anyways, they played a few songs and even covered Elvis Costello. I really wish I had a faster lens with me as it was pretty dark and I didn't want to use a flash. So the pictures are pretty dark and have some noise due to the high ISO. For a live video recording of their concert click here.

So we had to research a famous photographer and try to emulate their style. My plate was already full at the time with midterms and projects, so I went to the first guy I could think of - The Sartorialist. The is 1 of a 3 part series. stay tuned...oh yeah, thanks KK!

Yellow Spring

Photoshop is a magical tool, but people use it too much to mask their photographic inabilities. Not to say I don't have them, but we should all aspire to capture images that are true the moment you take them and not after you tweak them in a photo editor. However it is always nice to have fun, like when you turn yellow flowers red and make the surroundings seem like it is the aftermath of nuclear fallout.

P.S. This street in Berkeley is awesome - I wouldn't mind calling one of those homes mine one day. All I have to do is increase my paycheck 10 fold.

So Much for the After Glow

One of the most prominent albums of my childhood, So Much for the After Glow by Everclear was always 1 out of the 6 CD's we had in my Dad's old Honda (6 disc changer!). My brother and I grew up driving in the passenger seat as we drove from our mom's, grandma's...etc. By the end of it all we had every song and 3rd harmonic memorized. Albums came and went, what remained present were tracks that left a permanent imprint on our character, tracks such as "Father of Mine" and "I Will Buy You a New Life."
